Judge Ziegler presided in the trial of Zeke Goldblum and sentenced him to life in prison when he was found guilty. But after the trial, as new evidence came up, Judge Ziegler began to question that decision. Seven years later, Judge Ziegler, then serving on the Federal Bench, wrote a letter to the Board of Pardons in support of Zeke’s Application for Commutation of his sentence. That application was denied, but over the years, Judge Ziegler has written four more letters on Zeke’s behalf to both the Board of Pardons and one to Governor Casey. Original copies of all five letters are presented below. Click on each letter for a clearer version.
